Our Story
Founder Chuck Schiek began his love of caring for trees in 1977 while completing his college internship with a nationally recognized tree care company. Chuck passed the Illinois tree expert exam in 1981 and has been caring for trees on a professional level ever since. In order to practice his high standards and methods of natural tree care, Chuck founded Urban Arborist in 1991 as a local family-owned and operated business.
It is the Urban Arborist approach to tree care that sets us apart from other tree care companies. Urban Arborist is a small enough company that we are able to offer our clients and their trees unsurpassed quality and service, yet large and experienced enough to take on the most demanding sites. Urban Arborist specialists have logged thousands of hours in the classroom, continuing their environmental education. Urban Arborist has maintained an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau and an impressive no-complaint history record with the BBB. It is our policy that you are not invoiced for work until the contracted work has been completed, and we only expect payment when you are 100 percent satisfied with the work we have performed for you. A Message From Chuck
My love for and appreciation of trees stems from my early years as a child, when my father would take my sister and me for walks to explore the wonders of the woods.
Trees and the environment were important to me then, and they are important to me now. In fact, it is unlikely that you will ever meet anyone more passionate about trees than I am. As the owner of Urban Arborist, I feel one of my greatest responsibilities is to impress upon my employees not only the importance of the work they are doing, but also the importance of doing that job or that application correctly and to the best of our abilities. This is what I expect from each employee, and this is what each of my clients expects from me, nothing less.
